JEC WORLD 2019
Today, composite materials such as CFRP and GFRP are taking the world of industrial series production by storm. Processing these materials is challenging, but modern lasers make it possible to achieve short cycle times with consistent quality. The Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT has developed an entire range of laser-based technologies for processing composite materials, which will be on display from March 12-14 at JEC World 2019 in Paris.
This component was developed in the HyBriLight project and it successfully demonstrates a process chain including innovative laser processes for a cost- and resource-efficient production.
This special technology was developed in the BMBF-funded HyBriLight project for wear-free cutting of GFRP-parts with local Carbon fiber-reinforcements.
Funded by the EU-project ComMUnion, a scanning-head and its process was developed, which enables a continuous high-speed surface pretreatment for hybrid joining.
