The smallest living unit of an artificial organ is the cell. To isolate and analyze without disturbing it, in order to understand its interaction in the network of an artificial organ, is a great challenge. We present LIFTOSCOPE technology, a handling method with which both single cells and spheroids can be isolated at high speed. Subsequently, they can be cultured and analyzed in customized 3D-printed microfluidic systems for organ-on-a-chip applications.
